John's Story
John's schools include Lubbock High School and 1948-49 at Texas Tech. Enlisted in the Air Force 13 June 1949. Retired at Major 1 July 1973. Married Mary Beth Scott of Hereford High School and a Texas Tech graduate. Served in San Antonio, Texas; Newburgh, NY; Itazuki AB, Japan; Osan AB, Korea; Offutt AFB, Omaha, NE; Andersen AFB, Guam; and the Armed Forces Staff College at Norfolk, Va.
We have 4 Children, Leesa Ann, (1956), Richard Scott (1958) Linda Karen (1959) and Lauri Jean (1961) All of them are grandparents now, so we have numerous grand children and great grand children.

with my father-in-law in the printing business for 9 years, then move to Branson MO, where we have lived ever since.
I am a life member of the American Legion, VFW, and Military Officers Association of America. In the American Legion I have Commanded Post 220, Branson-Hollister and the 17th District of MO. Then I served as Zone 3 Vice Commander of the Department of MO. I was the first Chairman of the Board of the Branson Veterans Task Force and served on several Board positions until old age forced me to go into semi-retirement.
P.S. I picked up the nickname "Rick" in 1949 and have been called by that name ever since.
