John's Story
The lovely Janet McFerran , (who to my regret I have never met) requested I tell my story, so after a few months of delay here is a brief synopsis of the last 40 years.
What can I say about my life so far, "Some of its majic, some of its tragic, but I've had a good life just the same". Plagiarized from Jimmy Buffet.
After high school I traveled and just kicked around for a few years. Moved to Houston, Texas in 1978 and married my first wife. Made a few million dollars in building and land development. Lost it all including the wife when the economy crashed in the 80's. My father passed away at the early age of 63 in 1988, definitely a low point. Married again in the early nineties and started another building company. In 2002 my god daughter was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer, so I spent the next 2 years in the evenings at the hospital taking care of her so her mother could work. f my life. Abby died at the age of 6. My second marriage ended about the same time. Decided it was time for a change of pace so I left the states for parts unknown, ended up giving adventure tours to the outer Islands of Panama for the next two years. After 2 years of being Huck Finn I came back to the states and bought an upholstery company which I still operate today. Life is good, I keep it simple, walks in the park with the dog or a long bike rides on the weekends. I travel a few times a year and I always make time for romantic dinners with a beautiful senorita. I keep getting younger, must be the laughter, I do enjoy living. I get out to California a few times a year to see family and friends. Mom turned 80 in March of 2010. The one thing I cannot believe is how few people I recognize or actually knew in high school. Definitely my loss.... Well that's my story and I'm stickin to it!
Vaya con Dios,
john
