John's Story
Life
I no longer live in Va Beach, VA. I live in West Des Moines, IA with my wife, Charlene (Faughn - MC '92) and 2 sons (Joshua born in '99 and Luke born in '05). I am Assistant Director of Vocal Music at Valley High School. It's a great place to work and to get to know kids! I received my BA in Music Education and a minor in Spanish from Monmouth College (IL). I have taught for 15 completed years in both music and Spanish around IL and now IA. I have completed the Master ...Expand for more
of Music Education degree from the University of IL (Urbana-Champaign) and the Master of Science in Education degree in School Guidance & Counseling form Buena Vista University. My parents ask me when I will be going for the Ph.D. Not for awhile... but I have to say, I have enjoyed my grad school experience an awful lot.
I never thought that I would end up living in Iowa. It's a great place to work, live, and raise a family. Who knows where life will take us in the future?
