Hmmmm... got my draft notice as a birthday present, and took it to the AF recruiter and said, "I don't look good in green, you want me?... he said sure.
Basic in San Antonio, and as 500 bald guys sat in a room, and got their assignments, the DI said, "you can all go now except those whose job numbers begin with 2"...
498 guys got up and left, and I looked over at the nerd from NY and said, "SHIT"... now what?
Well, they sent me to spy school.
Assigned me...Expand for more
to the USAFSS, and I worked for NSA (No Such Agency) as an analyst.
Woof, their mistake!!! What a bunch of freaks WE were... still stay in touch with about 8 of them.
3 years 6 months and 11 days later (but I wasn't counting), I rolled into San Francisco a civilian again.
Years later, I found myself a staff member with Point Man Ministries... a ministry for vets by vets... still wear my beret, especially when driving the Zamboni.
