John's Story

Where to begin? After high school I spent 4 "wonderful" years in the Navy and after returning to Binghamton and spending a couple of years there decided to head elsewhere. I loaded up all my worldly possessions in 1/2 of a VW bug and headed toward California to hook up with some friends from the service. I stopped in Denver to visit the family of my deceased oldest sister and ended up finding a job and staying here. Never did make it to California! I went back to school, got a BA in Spanish, met my wife (an engineering student from Venezuela) and attempted to settle down and become "normal". al documents for several companies in the oil business. Halliburton was one of them but this was all pre-Cheney of course!! Came back to Colorado, got divorced and failed miserably at all attempts at "normalcy". Raised the world's most spoiled rotten dog (Steve) who has since passed away. Don't have any other children of which I am aware. Went to graduate school and got an MA in Religious Studies (Buddhism---It's a long story--). I've been managing a 16 story condominium for the better part of the last 20 years and have given notice that I'm leaving at the end of 2009. So, at the beginning of 2010--Lord willing and the creek don't rise--I intend to backpack to the West coast, then down through the South West to Mexico where I plan to stretch out on the beach with a large quantity of Corona's and wait for the END.
