John's Story
Hello and thanks for looking in on me. I retired from the Air Force in March of 2007 after 26 years of active service. I have now lived in Hawaii for 25 years (as of 8 Feb 2023). Nine of which were spent at my last duty assignment with Joint Task Force-Full Accounting and Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command. While in the Air Force, I was employed as a Vietnamese interpreter and spent my career either listening to the bad guys or traveling around Southeast Asia retrieving the remains of those Americans (Aussies and Koreans) who didn't make it home from the Vietnam war. My military travels took me to the Philippines, China, Okinawa and mainland Japan, Korea (both North and South), Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Tarawa, the Marshall Islands and Fiji.
After my retirement, I...Expand for more
began working for Booz Allen Hamilton as a Government consultant. Work included Airport and mass-casualty disaster mitigation with Pacific Island nations (the diving in Palau is insane btw), disaster exercise planning, and disaster management training exchanges with foreign governments such as China, Indonesia, India and Bangladesh. I am back with the POW/MIA mission and working as the Force Protection Officer, traveling all over the globe. and enjoying life...
When I'm not running around the Pacific at work, I spend time in the Islands camping, hiking, SCUBA diving, and surfing (long board only) here in Paradise. I have two sons, John Jr (35) and William (27). My family is still in Orange County, but all have left Santa Ana. If you're ever in Hawaii, look me up. I'll be happy to play tour guide for you... Aloha!
