John's Story
Hello Classmates: Hoping all of your dreams and wishes during our years at Penn have come true, or at least the good ones. After we graduated in 1968, I attended St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas which was founded in 1885 by the Brothers of Holy Cross, same as the order who founded Notre Dame. Assistant coach Jim O'Keefe from Penn helped convince me that a lifetime adventure would await me if I accepted a basketball scholarship to St. Ed's where he also played ball and was an allamerican in the early 60's. ick as I could". For the next four years I played varsity ball and graduated in 1972 with a double major in management and accounting which have been invaluable in my business activities. I have remained in Texas living in Houston, Laredo, and now in the Texas hill country near Tarpley, Texas.
In 1973 I married a Texas girl I met at St. Edward's. Liz and I have three sons, each an Eagle Scount and college graduate. My two oldest son's are married and each have added a grand daughter to our family. We are very blessed.
