John's Story
Currently enjoying retirement after a working career of 40 years in higher education financial and managerial administration. Married in 2001 for the third time to a woman 10 years my junior who thinks she has me figured out. Have two sons, one a screen play writer in LA and the other a whiz-bang technician with General Motors. Have two step kids, one the daughter I always wanted, and the other an aspiring Marine Corps lifer. Then there's 3 grand children that I love to spoil.
After high school, tried college but couldn't afford both college and the life style I thought I wanted. After ten years, a failed marriage, a second marriage, a new son, and a work career without direction, I finally graduated with a BBA from UTA. Medical School in Dallas, the Univ of Nebraska at Omaha, Kansas State University, Univ of Oklahoma, and Washburn Univ in Topeka KS. While at Washburn, I met my current wife. Retired the first time in 1999, but a consulting opportunity led me to working another 9 years for the Kansas Health Institute. Retired for real in January 2008.
Live in the country on 11 acres about 25 miles north of Topeka, KS. Enjoy traveling and "camping" in my 34' fifth wheel camper and hoping that my wife will retire soon so we can travel even more.
Still very active both physically and mentally. My mind thinks I am still an 18 to 25 year old at times, but my body sure knows different.
Have been out of touch with my skeeter classmates for the most part since graduation, although did make the reunion in 1990. Hope to reconnect with some of you.
