John's Story
After Morningside I earned a couple of BAs in physics & math and later the equivalent in computer science. When I was 25 I spent the year as the first general manager of the Sacramento Natural Foods Coop. Moved to Alaska in '73 and became a construction surveyor until '86 when I got into software development for 18 years. About 5 years ago I got back into construction surveying and plan on getting another pension in about 2 years. Along the way I've been married and divorced, had several long term relationships and no children. Bought and sold and managed several properties and for a long time have lived in my happy home on the Delaney Park Strip in downtown Anchorage. I have a modest lifestyle and I'm pretty happy. I've been able to travel and vacation a good deal over the years and I've had some good adventures. Roller blade in the summer and cross country ski in the winter. I still have most of my teeth but not my hair.
