John's Story
My two main interests are playing Irish music with one of my simple system flutes and riding fast and far on one of my overpriced bicycles. Still working in the hub of America (Chicago) repairng heavy trucks. I click on the Pedro Pt. cam when I get home sick.
I age up to 65-69 masters class in bicycle time trial competition. I mix in 6 miles of running with my cycling to keep the old bones in shape. I'd be a little faster without the whiskers but I leave them on because like John Steinbeck once said "It's the only thing I can do better than a woman.".
I've been playing folk music with a sing around group twice a month. Its good for my ears to play my flute along with sing...Expand for more
ers and string instruments. If you go to twowaystreet.org you can see our group on you tube under 40th anaversity video. I do some open mike from time to time. I'll still keep my day job.
I have a new mountain bike, carbon fiber no less. Even with the trick bike I can't keep up with my son. We have some nice single track in the Palos Park forest preserve. I also added to my unicycle collection and bought a 36" uni. Its for those lazy days when I feel like running and sitting at the same time. They call it a touring unicycle.
I have resently joined a Native American Flute circle which is kind of different. I play the quena along with my Irish flutes and whistles.
