John's Story
My five children: Steve is Kohls store mgr in Las Vegas w/2 boys, Lisa is housewife w/2 boys, Tori works IC mfg w/3 girls, Paul works for BofA, and Sarah is 4th grade teacher in Denver. Yep, I got them (finally in 2008) all married.
My wife Kathy and I love gardening together, walking together, and exploring US national parks together on our yearly driving vacations throughout USA.
Was a volunteer at Beaverton family history library for 20 years helping patrons research their family history. I really love helping people.
I'm a local public speaker on multiple genealogy topics, and quality assurance (eng...Expand for more
ineering) topics. I even gave a lecture to the reference staff at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Not bad for one who "feared" oral reports in Wilson HS.
Worked at Tektronix as technician, engineer, mgr; then at Precision Interconnect (medical device company) as engineer/internal auditor; then Logic General (CD/DVD mfg) as their QA manager.
Earned a BS degree from Eastern Oregon U, and completed an arm's length of post college classes.
And yes, I surf the internet for work related and family history content. Plus I have split personality: comfortable with both PCs (work) and Macs (home).
