John's Story
Life
Living in wonderful Las Vegas Nevada and working for a little company called Xerox.
I'm divorced and have two wonderfull daughters. My oldest is now married and she is 25 and has blessed me with a beautiful granddaughter and the youngest lives with her mother. I just became a grandfather August 2003, I love being a grandpa!! it is so much fun.
Did my 6 years in the Marine Corp, got out and and become a civilian and moved to California.
I do wish that I was able to find two people from my high school days. Anyone heard from Donald Bays and his sister Patricia.
More later.
College
Several years ago I returned to college. At 37 it's not easy for an adult to go back to retrain in a new career. I did not want to work on cars and more so I went to DeVry and got my BSEET (Bachelor of Science in Electronical Enginneering). Was that hard!! I had to go to school to learn how to learn again. wow!! but after an accelerated 3 year program I walked up on the podium and got my degree at 40. That was to be my greatest accomplishment of all. never could I have envisioned myself going to college.

While in the military I was exposed to a great deal that widened my horizons, opened my eyes to the world and made me appreciate what I had being a United States citizen. that in itself was one of the greatest thing I learn from my time in the military, we truelly live in a great country.
I was able to travel the globe in my duties and see how others live, what they experience, how they work and play. I also grew up from bing a screwed up young spoiled rich boy to a man and have never looked back. I was an automotive technician and worked on a wide variety of military equipment, mostly tactical support vehicles, taking a M60 tank out for a little test drive, how cool is that?
I did not see myself staying in for 20-30 years and at the end of my enlistment contract I decided to become a civilian. I never thought I'd want to go back to that life but after 9/11 I went down to the recruiters and tried to join.. they told me I was to old...
