Johnny's Story
Life
I can't believe it has been fifty years since we graduated. I taught for 20 years mostly in Ft. Lauderdale. Then I became a county supervisor for the next 12 years. I retired from Broward County Schools in 1986. I have been married twice. Divorced twice. I have a 34 year old son. I am now in a marvelous relationship with a great guy. My Lifetime Partner is a university professor. Life is beautiful now that I allow it to be. I have a few relatives that are scattered from California to Virginia. I have a 90 year old aunt who still lives in Warren, Ohio. My sister is still in the Niles area. My "brother" lives near Mineral Ridge. I've had some interesting jobs since I retired. When I got bored, I would move on to another job, travel, or just enjoy retirement. I am currently enrolled...Expand for more
at the University of Kentucky where I take "fun" courses but not for credit. My partner and I are planning to attend the class reunion this year. It should be great fun. Update: I just turned 80 in Oct. 2014 I was one of the youngest in our graduating class. I can not stand to look in a mirror. Still vain, I guess. In spite of the heart surgery that prevented me from attending our 50th reunion, and after two more major heart surgeries, I am still here. I have recently had a few more major surgeries that seem to be common in the aging process. I am very happy because of my exceptionally intelligent mate. He is my world and always will be. I remember the high school days. They were difficult for me but I survived in spite of the evil that so many fellow students exhibited. Sad but true.
