Johnny's Story

UP UNTIL NOW I grew up in Compton CA and went to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Elementary School until age 11 then went to Frank L. Walton Jr High School. My mom moved us to Fresno CA where I went to Ivy Jr High School. There I was elected ASB president. I transferred to Irwin Jr High School, then to Edison High where I was appointed high school newspaper editor. I met and married Roslyn Smith. We moved to San Diego where we had a son, Jamaal but unfortunately Ros and I divorced. I got an Administration of Justice degree and I found a career in law enforcement. I remarried and had two other children, Lijo...Expand for more
n and Johnnie. I divorced again and retired after 30 years as a San Diego Police Officer In my life I was a welding instructor, private pilot, brown belt in Karate and inventor of the PRISM I wrote an award winning gang/cops novel and I lead a full life. I'm still active and I run 3 miles, three times a week. One of my favorite quotes is: "Life is like a chess game, think two or three moves ahead.” When God takes me, I can say I had my fun. There WILL be dancing at my funeral. NO TEARS. I'm in a relationship with Susan Groce. Between the two of us we have 4 four adult children and nine grandchildren.
