Myra's Story
I was married for 23 years and had two children, now 25 (girl) and 21 (boy). I am now divorced and living with someone. We have the yours, mine, and ours family. He has 3 children: 24, 21, and 18. Two girls and one boy. They all lived with us until recently. Many, many years later, I have two more children...8 yrs old (girl) and 4 yrs old (girl). I also have 3 grandchildren (1 girl & 2 boys) and 1 on the way. That make a family of TEN!!! What a difference it makes to have children in your 50's. As we all know..we are all about 51 now and still raising children can either make you stay young or go crazy...not sure which one I am??? I work for the School Board of Alachua County for 10 years now...Expand for more
. I love my job! I am still around the area, my parents and siblings are still here except for one brother lives in Louisiana. I live outside of Micanopy now. Beautiful farmland and country settings. I loved living in Gainesville so I have never really ventured too far away. Did some traveling when I was married, but now have pretty much settled down to the kid life. When I see people that haven't seen me, they will ask me if the kids are my grandkids..good assumption right? When they find out that they are mine...they just roll their eyes and say better you than me. I guess so. I wouldn't trade it for the world (most of the time). As you can see, there is never a dull moment in my life.
