Jon's Story
I bounced around after High School for a while...Hitched cross country in 1970...stayed with Laurie Burstein in S.F. went North to Seattle for while. Came back East and dropped in and out of college...UCONN, Berkelee College of Music, U.B., and while taking part time music courses with John Mehegan, I espied Mary who was a Fine Arts Major. That began a life long love...She dumped me, I followed her to Buffalo(had to be love!)and ended up graduating from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo in 1979. We got married and moved to CT, and we have two boys. I became the 4th generation at our family Textile business. Many of you toured it in 4th grade at Stratfield School when we studied the Industrial Revolution. We sold it in 1987, and afterwards I bought a textile factory in NH with Larry Postol's brother in ...Expand for more
law. We had a successful run until the advent of China as a world trading partner. That ended that.
I now work in global retail advertising logistics, facilitating in-store advertising banners,displays,hangers, store bags,mannequins,software development for e-business, and a lot more for brands who do business here, in Europe, and in Asia. For ex. Puma, Tommy Bahama, Izod and North Face.
My hobbies include a major addiction to 60s Rock and the Blues, Youth LAX, and NH politics. I've met a number of national politicians. A favorite experience was participating in 1996 in a 2 hour meeting with President Bill Clinton on Small Business issues.
I went in wanting to attack him on Trade issues, which I did...then a bright white light appeared and I wanted to go home with him...sound familiar?
