Jon David's Story
Life
Wow. How do you write a life biography? I'll try. First, I was engaged to my highschool sweetheart. We went to LSUS together and there decided that there was a whole world we still had to experience. So we called off the engagement. I went to work part-time for American Airlines while trying to get a business degree. I was on the extended 5 1/2 year plan but I graduated. While working for American Airlines I started my own company, Advance Tax, on the chance that this electronic tax filing thing might take off. That was 1989/1990 and here I am 13 years later with more than 20 stores. I have the good fortune of only having to work about 4 months a year and then I play for the other 8. I still have flight benefits with American Airlines so I fly free anywhere in the world I want to go. Lucky, huh? Not in everything. I married an incredible woman in 1993 and we had a daughter in 1995. Shortly after our daughter was born though I felt like we should not be married anymore so I asked for a divorce. My idea, and yet on the day of the divorce I cried more than she did. Ironic I know. However to this day we remain the closest of friends. Since then I married my true love, my heart, my best friend in Oct of 2001 (she's the beautiful one in the picture in profile). We moved to our dream house on Cypress Lake and she now works in our business so we can have ti...Expand for more
me together. So we work for a few months together , travel the world for free, wake up in the morning at home and walk to our beach and go ski or fish or just watch the sunrise. Honestly, we see more sunsets than sunrises though, lol. My ex-wife and my new wife go to movies together or Christmas shopping because nobody is a bad guy in our divorce. Just two people that shouldn't be married but should still be friends. Ask anybody that knows me to name the luckiest person they have ever met in their life and Jon David Murray is the name you will most likely hear. And that's the way I feel. Lucky to have such an incredible woman in my life as the mother of my child. Lucky to have a wife in my life that accepts her stepdaughter as her own (my daughter wore angel wings in our wedding ceremony). And I have a daughter that makes me believe in God and all that is good in life. Every night when I put her to sleep I ask her "of all the little girls in the whole wide world how is that I got the best one"? She says "because you are the luckiest person I know". Obviously there is more to my life but I hope to share all that with friends at the reunion. One last daddy/daughter story though. When she was a baby and just learning to talk people would ask her "why are you so pretty?" And she would say "because I got my daddy's blue eyes". I swear I had nothing to do with it.
