Jon's Story
After High School I went to Olivet College, Olivet MI. From there off to Missouri for Medical School. I got involved in Campus Crusade for Christ. It is there that I met Karen Riley. I was married my 3rd year of med school. At graduation in 1972 we went to Clearwater Fla where I had a residency in Family Medicine, and joined a practice group.
We were there for 11 years. It was here that my daughter was born, then 2 years late my son. I tired of Family Medicine and returned back to Detroit where I did a second residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.(PMR)
Upon finishing the 3 years there I was recruited to Columbia MO, and joined the faculty at the University of MO, dept of PMR. After 2 years I had honed my skills and knowledge in the rehabilitation of Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke.

f 15 in the USA. I was awarded the Lifetime Achievement in TBI, The Best Doctors in America (for TBI and stroke), and 4 times Physician Teacher of the Year award at the MO School of Medicine. I have been involved in multiple research projects, 3 for medication stabilization for memory in TBI.
After coming to the University in 1989 I retired in October of 2013.
My wife retired from the School of Nursing from research position in women's health issues. She is a RN
My daughter lives in Sterling Heights MI, my son in Columbia,MO. I have one granddaughter and one on the way.
I am happy in retirement, I feel quite satisfied with my life and career. The love of my life, Karen and I have been married 45 years. The other great love is my 5 yr old granddaughter Ellyn Anne Rupright. August 4th, my second granddaughter, Lucy Jane Rupright will be born! Lucy is here, born 4 days before her daddies 40th birthday
