Jon's Story

Life After high school I went to a SUNY college for 3.5 years, didn't graduate because I didn't finish my student teaching (medical reasons). Planned on getting that done, but decided to see another part of the country. Moved to DC for a couple of years, decided I needed to leave before I got myself into serious trouble. Upon a little self evaluation, realized I needed some discipline in my life, so I joined the Navy. Got married right before I left for boot camp. Spent 4 years in San Diego, where we had our first child, then transferred to Maryland, where we had our second child. For many reasons, the marriage didn't last. ut, with no job, no place to live. Talk about starting over. Thought about finally finishing college, but child support wouldn't wait, so I entered the civilian work force. Worked a number of jobs, then got hooked up with a mortgage broker, eventually running the office for the President of the company who moved to CA. After 10 years of making my boss a fortune, I decided to strike out on my own. I have my own brokerage now, buying, selling, processing seller held notes all over the US for my own company and for other brokers. My daughter moved in with me last year and will be graduating this year (2003) then heading off to college. My son, almost 16, lives with his mom and step father in Westfield. Today, life is good. I'd love to hear from anyone that remembers my skinny butt.
