Jon's Story
Life
*Graduated Oakhaven 1968.
*Attended Mid-South Bible College 1968-1973.
*Started taking flying lessons during that time and became a private pilot.
*Went to North Carolina to attend Piedmont Baptist College to become a missionary pilot! It had come out in English class one day that I felt we were responsable for taking the Gospel to the "heathen". Some groaned, "Oh no! A missionary!" The prophecy came true!
*Met Kathy Preswood at PBC and were married when she graduated in 1976.
*Attended Wayne Community College 1976-1978 to earn an Airframe & Powerplant me...Expand for more
chanics license.
*Left for Paraguay, South America, in January, 1984, with Kathy and our two daughters, Joanna and Rachel. Participated in an aviation ministry for the first three years.
*John Daniel was born there in 1986.
*Returned to Paraguay in 1988 for our second term to both build a Bible camp for young people, and to establish a Baptist Church in the town of Tobati. Have been doing that ever since.
*The church now has two annexes, and the camp has been in use since 1993.
*Plan to return to Paraguay in Jan. 2006 to go full-time into the camp ministry.
