Life To borrow from Dickens (and at the risk of offending literary sensibilities), high school was indeed, for me "A Tale of Two Schools". My early years were spent in Lynnfield, MA, but in 1973 my family moved to Florida where I finshed school at Venice HS. Regardless, it still seems like we were all just in study hall wondering when (or if) the school year would ever get over. And now, here we are, some with children who have already graduated high school themselves (even a few of us as grandparents). And as our bodies remind us that we really aren't 17 anymore, we still look back with fondness (or yes, even a touch of sadness) at the memories, the relationships found and lost and the lessons life has taught us. I appreciate the many fond memories I still hold from Lynnfield. Yet many of us at Venice were "snowbirds"; Yankees gone south. I want to say that I appreciate the opportunity VHS gave me to "start over"; to develop new friendships and to experience things that I would otherwise never have seen. As I ...Expand for more
