Jonathan's Story
Life
Since high school, I have lived in College Park, MD and Columbia, MD (to 1986) In 1986, I moved to Massachusetts, and have lived in Arlington, Allston, and now Watertown, MA.
I have been in the hotel industry for almost 10 years now in jobs ranging from Reservation Agent to Conference Services Manager. My academic career has made several stops.
After graduating from high school, I intended to pursue my dream of becoming a broadcast journalist or a on air radio personality. As it turns out, I lacked the discipline to focus on academics.
After stints at Boston University, and University of Maryland, I took 9 years off from school and partied. I was a regular on the night scene in Boston. Worked for different companies for short periods of time, was on the guest list of lots of nightclubs, DJ'd house parties and at some bars in the area, and played lots of soccer. A career was the furthest thing from my mind.
I returned to college full time in 1992, attended Bunker Hill C.C. and Emerson College. I was editor-in-chief for the Bunker Hill student newspaper, and produced a video for Boston's Healthcare for the Homeless' "Recovering Mothers" program. And as a 27 year old freshman, I was selected as co-captain of the Bunker Hill soccer team. Over the years, I matured, and was able to manage my time better. I then transfered to Emerson College with an 'A' average.

rson, I was working part time at a hotel. It was there that I discovered my passion for hotels and hospitality.
I am currently at the boutique hotel XV Beacon in Boston as the head concierge/guest services manager. The job is quite rewarding and can be exciting with lots of perks.
I have also traveled in the US, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean.
I had the opportunity to tutor 12th grade students at Madison Park Senior High in Boston. This was one of the most satisifying feelings I have experienced. I have also been a guest speaker at a hospitality high school in Vimmerby, Sweden.
I am still playing softball, and riding my bike. I travel to NYC and Baltimore/DC frequently to see friends and family.
I was also featured in a couple of Boston based publications (North End Scene Magazine, Boston Magazine's "Concierge" and the Newbury Street Guide) as well as Private Air Magazine. I am also on forbestraveler.com as a destination expert. I was nominated as Boston's Concierge of the Year in 2003, 2004, and 2006, 2007, and 2008. I have been recently admitted to an elite group of concierge (Les Clefs D'Or) worldwide.
I got married in late 2007, another Baltimore area native, whom I met here in Boston.
I hope to make more trips to Europe, and any warm destination with a beach.
I am looking forward to reconnecting with my past friends in elementary school, high school and college.
