Life High school at CHS was a great experience. I have many good memories and I am thankful for the friends and education I received there. After high school, I attended Southwest Missouri State University. I graduated in 1991 with a Secondary Education degree and teaching certification. I also had the equivalent of a major in Chemistry. A couple of missions trips to Belize during my college years really affected the direction of my life. I saw that God could use someone like me to teach and help others, as imperfect as I was. I moved to West Lafayette, Indiana to attend graduate school at Purdue University in Chemistry. The college class at my church gave me lots of good friendships and opportunities. I met my precious wife, Nikki, through that class. We were married in 1994, just a few months after receiving my Master's Degree in Chemistry with an emphasis in Chemical Education. I continued pursuing my Ph.D. in Chemistry. My goal had always been to teach. I didn't know then if it would be in high school or college, so I kept on going. I completed coursework in biochemistry, and conducted research in analytical biochemistry. Through a series of circumstances, my research did not lead to a dissertation.
