Joneis's Story
Life
Life since high school has taken me up and down the east coast and even to North Dakota (more about that later). Thanks to Dr. Lombardi, who taught a psychology class at Crossland, I decided to major in psychology at Howard University. That decision led me down a path with several stops along the way.
I went to the University of Virginia for a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. I lived in Richmond, VA for a year while I did an internship at the Medical College of Virginia. After this, I lived in Durham, NC for two years, where I completed a fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

n the US Air Force. In the past 6 years, we've lived in Montgomery, AL, Grand Forks, ND, Charleston, SC, Alexandria, VA, and now Colonial Beach, VA.
On July 2, 2007, our daughter, Linden McKinley Thomas, was born. Motherhood agrees with me. I was born to be her mother. We also have a cat, Silver.
Professionally, I have come full circle and am now back at my alma mater, Howard University, teaching in the psychology department.
Some of the most exhilarating times in my life have been horseback riding in the mountains of North Carolina, cliff jumping in Jamaica, and parasailing in Key West, FL.
I still keep in touch with friends from high school, college, grad school, work, and each location I've lived since graduating from high school. Looking forward to expanding this circle of friends ...
