Jonelle's Story
Life
My Life:
Recently married to Richard Cochran of Ft. Meade. We live out in the country where there's minimal traffic, and wide open spaces.
The Cats:
Still around after a decade! Beemer is a fuzzy fluff, 11 years old, that keeps us laughing because he's nosey, extremely energetic and always into something. He plays fetch and constantly antagonizes Ceecil, our 15 year old calico, who just wants to snooze.
Spare Time:
I still paint and draw and have been doing craft shows since '90, painting clothing and childrens' faces. I also make bead jewelry and scented soaps.
The Job:
I've been at Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union in Tampa for 24 years, but the hour one way drive from Fort Meade was a bit much. I recently had the opportunity to relocate to Suncoast's Wauchula Service Center, where I manage the branch.

lic school. I was not happy about going to Catholic School. Nuns were a big turnoff for some reason. I learned to "live with it" by the time I got to TCH - and then, there were less nuns anyway =o). When I left TC, I went straight into finance. I moved into mortgage lending, then joined Suncoast Schools Fed. CU in 1981. At Suncoast, I joined the Certified Credit Union Executive program taking 10 college courses including Business Law, Economics, Financial Management I and II, Strategic Management, etc. I received my designation as CCUE in May of 2000.
Workplace
I became an employee of Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union in May of 1981. I worked in the loan department for two years and was promoted to loan officer in student loans. I worked my way up to student loan manager and after 16 years helping college kids achieve their dreams, I moved into mortgage servicing. I recently made a huge move after 24 years, as the new service center manager in Wauchula, FL.
