Joni's Story
Hi! My maiden name was Joni Souers. I moved to Fort Wayne in 1982 to work at Parkview Memorial Hosipital as a capital equipment buyer. I met my husband Ron (and his 2 year old daughter) in 1987. We've been married since 1989 and have two girls and a boy to fill our lives.
Our oldest daughter is now a senior in college at IU and is working part time and looking forward to graduation.
Our second daughter is 18 and plays volleyball for Snider High School, club in the off season, and works part time to earn gas/spending money.
Our son is 17 and plays soccer for Snider and club also. He too works part time for that important staple - gas/spending money.
We keep busy right now following our kids to their various tournaments, games and school events, ...Expand for more
but we also find time to golf together and travel - mostly to warm islands way down south ;)
I am active with the Junior League of Fort Wayne, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society's "Links for Life" fundraiser and the PTA at our kids' school.
I am very lucky to be a stay-at-home mom as I am able to be home when they are - besides I get paid 'big bucks' to be the CFO of the Dick Family (which explains my answers to the question "what do you get paid to do"). Okay so 'big bucks' comes by way of being able to see the little things and be with them when they're home and need me somewhere - I wouldn't trade my job for any amount of real money - my payoff is seeing them grow and become good people! Life is good & I thank the Lord for it every day!
