Qelilah's Story
I was born in Chicago and attended Jane A Neil, Amelia Dunne Hookway, and Calumet High school. My family moved to Windsor Hills, which is a part of Los Angeles, CA and I attended Dorsey High school and Manual Arts. I was married to Cary Young for 30 years and had 7 wonderful children.
Eventually, I moved back to Chicago, then to Fort Worth, Texas, then Statesboro, GA and after Cary died, I moved to Dallas, TX
When I lived in Chicago I kept up with my cultural background by occasionally attending Synagogue and Pow Wows. In 1998, I joined the Baha'i Faith. I am still able to observe my culture while in the Faith and that is very important to me.

My siblings and I are the top in our generation. All the grown ups have passed away. I am a great grand mother, I work full time, and I am on my 2nd marriage.
I hope people remember me for my track and art abilities.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. I home-schooled my 7 children in the best place in the world...Hyde Park: Chicago.
December 2014:
My passion is DNA and Genealogy. I have found the Solomons in my family and I am very excited about that . I will be going to the NARA tomorrow to get information on my great grand mother who was Native American.
