I left San Benito in 1971 and moved to South Bend, Indiana. You never quite forget your home town or your roots for that matter. There's a saying to the effect that you can take a boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy. The same is true for small town boys. I lived and worked in South Bend, Indiana for several years. I joined the Marine Corps at the age of 21. I arrived in San Diego,Ca courtesy of Uncle Sam. I never looked back. Someone once said that opportunity knocks only once. I beg to differ. Opportunity knocks daily. You just have to recognize and appreciate it. I served my time in the military and I like to think that I served my country well. I worked a couple of mundane jobs in search of my calling. A situation occured where I had to change gears and carreers if you could call my job that. I started looking at my options. I saw several viable opportunities.
