Life
After leaving Boonton, I enrolled at the University of Miami, and worked part-time at the Miami Herald. It led to full-time employment and started me on my newspaper career, I had brief stops in Fort Lauderdale and with the greyhound racing industry before moving to Naples, Fla. in 1968 as sports editor of the Daily News. s purchased by Gannett later that year. After 10 1/2 years there, I accepted a transfer to USA TODAY in Arlington, Va. where I worked 19 years in various editing roles in the sports department before taking early retirement. I have sold my Virginia residence and have relocated to Sunset Beach, N.C. I've taken a part-time job as a ranger at a golf course complex and am just enjoying life.
