Joseph's Story
Life
After leaving school I joined my "Uncle's" U.S.Navy. Stationed in Hawaii for two years flying with VR-21, and then two years aboard a combat supply ship. After cruising around the world a few times, I explored California as my last port of call...and never left. I married a wonderful girl from Minnesota, produced one daughter, and have been happily married ever since. Note here: At the suggestion and encouragement of my Legal Officer and Capt, I pursued another work ethic...court reporting. Since my skills in typing and shorthand, something I learned in high school, I decided to try this in civilian life. I did this for approximately five years. sitting...Expand for more
on my butt for that many years, enduring hard times, I did a reversal; I did what I like doing best; Repairing cars, hunting, shooting, fishing, and watching old B&W movies. Today, I am retired from a 9 to 5 job;
Military
My military bio is not as great as I would have liked it to be as I never made it a life-long career. But the time that I was in, I enjoyed it to the fullest. Stationed in Hawaii,(what more can you ask for)and then later sailing up to Alaska and down the coast of California. A WESTPAC cruise opened new lands and cultures I had not seen before.
A great experience and memories for a lifetime. And you know what? I was paid to enjoy myself!
