Yes, for a bit thought of the PhD, but hmmmmmmmmm, did not want to be a lifelong student.
Military
I was part of the Military (via) the draft. Drafted in 1966 and went to basic in Ft. Knox, Ky. For those with the military background, my MOS was in Communications.
My AIT was in Ft.Bragg, NC. AIT? Advanced Individual Training. The communications continued, and became Crytographic as well as Radio Teletype Communications.

time came my turn to visit South East Asia (Vietnam). Went to the 25th Division Artillery in July of 1967. Was stationed at a base camp named Cu Chi. Traveled to fire-bases, Vung Tau, Dau Tieng, Tay Ninh, Saigon, just some of the more scenic sites. If you like seeing Helicopters, artillery, and hearing incoming mortars, rockets, night-flares, etc, etc, then you would have loved it there.
TET was the major point of action in January of 1968. Left Vietnam, and the Army in July of 1968, and no, not enough money could get me to stay with Uncle Sam. The Lord got me through once, no tempting after the first time.
