Joseph's Story
Life
Well, it's been a strange life since Sanford. I am the father of a girl (29 yrs.) and a son (7 yrs.)... don't ask. I am divorced from my German wife Angela, but we have a fair relationship. I am in the process of divorcing my second wife (my half my age, trophy wife who left me for a woman) and I am seeking full custody of my son.
I spent about eight years in the military and later the intelligence community. When things dissolved in that (back in the mid 80's) I took the only skills that I had and applied them to the private security and investigations businesses. I am a licensed private investigator and security consultant in Florida now. I am the antithesis of who I was at Sanford. I am now far more conservative in politics.
I miss the simpler days that we had in our society back in the 60's and 70's and am totally disgusted at where we are now as a civilization. It's sad.
I now live alone now in Dania Beach, FL, although I have my baby boy an average of three days a week. No real female companionship and pretty much isolated from everything except for work. I have...Expand for more
however, gathered a certain notariety in this area as a politician (I ran for Sheriff in the last elections) and an investigator. (I broke the case of the guy sending white powder to police chiefs and judges; which got national attention; but the present sheriff took the credit... although the media knew different.
I have not seen Missy Brotman since about 1974 or so and the last time that I spoke to her (2002 I think), she told me she did not know who I was.
I have throughout the years, kept up with my old roommate Jerry Mirman and I talk to him somewhat regularly. He visited down here a few years back.
For those who know me from Goppingen, I still talk to my former sister-in-law Tina on a regular basis. Would love to hear from Bart or Phil from the 1st MI. The Fluggplatz is gone and many of the builldings have been taken down. The hangers are now a sky diving school. There is no going home there folks. I miss Gopp., Freddy Schmidt from the Seben Schwaben and Jim Bridwell and the thousands of miles we drove.
Would love to hear from anyone in the past. Joe (J. M.) Evans
