Joseph's Story
Life
It took me five years & three schools to get a degree in Special Education. After almost 11 years teaching in Ozaukee County, living in Cedarburg & then Port Washington I moved back to Milwaukee. I started driving in '81 for the Transit System & am now a Route Supervisor & relief dispatcher. I have been involved in railway preservation all this time 1st at East Troy & now for 27 years in South Elgin, IL. Never married but have 13 nieces & nephews. My family & hobby have let me visit all over the US & Canada resulting in friends everywhere. At home in Bay View I'm pretty quiet & attend St. Veronica's. right place at the Transit System and while I like my job it is bitter sweet leaving while the company is under attack by the county excutive. He like all the rest of us are only one accident away from having to ride the bus to maintain some level of personal freedom. With retirement I will have more flexability in doing activities with my youngest sister Louise who developmentally disabled. Our other sisters Liz and Terri (both ND grads) are still in Milwaukee and are also helpful with Lou who lives in assisted living run by Catholic Charties and works at Goodwill Industries near the airport. My brothers all have families with Dave (ND grad) living in Raleigh NC, Tom (Don Bosco) in River Forest IL and his twin Mike (also Bosco) in Burlingame CA.
