Joseph's Story
Graduated RUHS 1976. Go Sea Hawks! Played football, wrestled, on student council, drama, etc.
Attended UCLA between 1976-1978, then transferred to UC Berkeley and graduated with degree in Genetics in 1980. Decided for some crazy reason to go to law school and graduated from UC Davis School of Law in 1984. Did a Joint JD/ MBA program where I also got an MBA at the same time in 1984 from UC Berkeley.
Returned back to South Bay area and worked for law firms in LA from 1985 to 1998. Lived around LA between 1985 and 1989. Met my wife Marti in 1986 and got married in 1989. Still married. We moved to North Torrance and lived there until 1998. Was pretty involved in community, on Torrance Planning Commission and even ran for City Council (lost!). Continued to practice corporate/business law in an LA law firm, then took a job as General Counsel of a small high tech company in the San Diego area and moved to Carlsbad in 1998. Marti and I had a beautiful daughter, Juliette, in 2000 and she is our only child.

ing at a great company in Vista called DJO Global, which is a large medical device company (mostly orthopedic devices, like knee braces, physical therapy equipment, athletic gear, etc.). Now Senior VP and Assistant General Counsel, focused on corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and misc things.
Finally, got myself back in shape about five years ago (at age 52) and ran three half marathons, three short triathlons, and some ocean swimming (La Jolla Rough Water swim). Slacked off a bit in the last couple of years, but getting back to it. Love to golf...
Daughter is 15 and is good student, but an amazing dancer (like the So You Think You Can Dance stuff). She has trained with a lot of the choreographers on SYTYCD and traveled doing dance workshop conventions, etc. She attends the Orange County School of the Arts in Santa Ana (ugh, a long commute from Carlsbad!), which is an awesome performing arts charter school.
Lots of good memories from RUHS and beach area. Hope to make the 40th (!) reunion.
