Joseph's Story

Life For most of you who are reading this for the first time, hello and thank you for taking a few moments to reacquaint yourself to me, Joe Nevi. If you are somewhat confused as to who I am you will most likely have to pull out an old yearbook to refresh your memory. I transferred from St. Edward's Seminary to Blanchet in 1964 and pretty much kept to myself. I'm a Vietnam veteran, married with two boys and one granddaughter. After fulfilling my military obligation, I attended Cal Poly, Pomona, CA where I graduated in 1978. Upon graduation, Shell Oil Company offered me a chance to join their organization and in the ensuing fifteen (15) years worked in various divisional managerial positions throughout the country. After taking early retirement, we then moved to Memphis, TN for about six (6) working for a che...Expand for more
mical company until it was bought by a Canadian firm. I then joined Foster Wheeler Inc an engineering, procure and construct firm which was doing a lot of business with refineries along the Gulf Coast so we moved back to Texas. After that we stayed in Texas, but moved to cities like Austin, Beaumont and Dallas where I took various procurement managerial jobs. We have been living here in northern Illinois since 2002 and are really enjoying it. We live about 75 miles from Chicago but with the convenience of commuter trains, take the opportunity to visit downtown Chicago and partake in many of its culture opportunities. I continue to work since retirement does not hold much appeal to me. I've begun studies to obtain a doctorate degree in counseling and look forward to opening my own practice in the future.
