Joseph's Story

4/19/10: Busy month so far-Some friends from Greensburg just visited for a few days and did our best to put a dent into the Jagermeister inventory in Clearwater Beach. Trip to Augusta for the Masters, Atlanta to the Penguins game and some coasters at Six Flags....and a side trip to Milledgeville to check out the bars where Big Ben got in trouble. Before that up to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the race....heading to Talledega for the race and Biloxi for a little Black Jack this weekend. Now that tourist season is over able to get 18 holes in a few times a week. 3/30/2010: Hmmm....over a year since my last entry. What has gone on-in a nutshell? One motorcycle wreck (damn snowbirds...bye bye Harley), one major operation thanks to that damn blue haired snowbird, another knee operation (don't dive for a volleyball at age 56), moved from one beach to another beach, a passing of a parent, a college graduation of the youngest son, a Stanley Cup Celebration....oh, and TOTAL retirement. No more ANYTHING having to do with work other than collect the retirement checks! 2/1/09 Anyway....me.......living on Fort Myers Beach since 2000-I was a process engineer with Sony in New Stanton and when the relocation offer came it was "see ya"! Took the early retirement option in 2004. Now I bartend for Jimmy Buffett (yes, that Jimmy Buffett) part time. Great job...but talk about a 180 degree turn about. Oh, I guess I'm pretty good because I do ha...Expand for more
ve a bit of a following and make some damn good martinis...and my rum runner has won "Best of the Beach" 3 times! Was married, but divorced in 1992-single since then-have met a lot of nice women, and have had a few semi-serious relationships, but not the right one. Two boys. The older one graduated with his Masters in Engineering from Penn State and is now working and living in Annapolis. He was the captain of Penn State's hockey team and was an alternate on Team USA Roller Hockey team that won gold medal in Budapest last summer. The youngest in in an engineering program at RIT. He plays on the hockey team-one of their top scorers but also their penalty minute leader (gets the nastiness from his mom!). Now? Do a lot of traveling (Storm, my golden retriever is my traveling partner!), going out on the boat or jetski, pub crawling, whatever. Had a little accident a few weeks ago-was playing roller hockey and messed up my gallbaladder and liver-the gallbladder's gone but the liver grew back! Next on the agenda is a knee operation on the ACL & miniscus (same "accident")the week after the Super Bowl. Was up in the Rox and Greensburg in early December visiting friends and family....it didn't take the full 10 days to realize why I moved down here! Also had to stock up on Pierogies Plus pierogies, Isaly's chipped ham, Silver Star kielbasa,Mancinis bread -too bad Jenny Lee closed. Well, if anyone is coming down, send me a note.
