Joseph's Story
Right after highschool five Lanier grads and I joined the Marines for six months. When I returned home I married Joan Heisler from Wetumpka. Shortly thereafter, I reenlisted in the Air Force as an Electronics Technician working in the Electronics field on Airborne Radar systems. After the Air Force, I used my electronics experience to join Philco as a TechRep working on Spy Satellite Systems. Force Eastern Test Range. I left RCA to finish my Computer Science degree at Florida Institute of Technology and graduated cum laude. After graduation I worked in the computer industry for Harris Corp and Datapoint Corp. Afterward, I founded and operated the first of three very successful computer software companies. I had major business partners such as NCR, Microsoft, Intel and IBM.
Joan and I have four kids, three girls and one son. We have five grandchildren and one great grandchild. We have been married for fifty years and are retired in Fairhope, AL.
