Joseph's Story

Update 11/07/2020 Biden wins, Dotard trump loses, time to put the lyin' ,thieven' crook & traitor Trump in prison Update June 2019: Spent 8 days including 67th b-day in hospital w/pneumonia, had another heart attack while in emergency room, damn near killed me this time. death hasn't got me yet though. Still kickin', although alone...very alone. Update March 2019: Lost my last 2 original cats, Mini & Zoey. Also, Step-dad Lyle passed away a few days after his 92nd birthday in late Jan. Couldn't make it back for his funeral due to a blizzard up here, Got 18 inches of snow in that one. Been a hell of a winter up here in NW lower Michigan. That is all. Update: wee hours of December 27, 2016...still tickin'. 2016 flew by so damned fast...come & gone in the blink of an eye. Lost two of my cats, Bear at the end of October & Pretty Boy 2 weeks before Christmas. Bear was my last black cat & Pretty Boy was my Flame Point Siamese. Still have Mini, Zoey, Mouser, Huey, Leo, Flash, So, and Tosh. Politically: President Trump? I see this as the worst possible development in the history of the United States and have my doubts this country will survive for much longer. Hope I'm wrong but I see everything from Civil War to a Nuclear War and who knows what game Russia is playing. Every time republicans get the keys to America they drive America into a ditch. Hang on to your shorts, it's gonna' be one hell of a ride. Bid farewell to my lady Leny in August after 7 years and have decided to finish life's journey alone, no more women and no more relationships for me. (but if Joan Severance (Wiseguy/ Hear No evil see no evil/ Bird on a wire, Linda Park (Hoshi - Star Trek Enterprise) or Madeleine Stowe (12 Monkey's/ Last of the Mohicians) were to knock on my door I'd have to rethink my decision. So long 2016. You went by in the blink of an eye and were as weird as weird can be. Update...September 4th, 2015...Still alive...lol Oldest daughter Natalie has given me 3 more grandkids, Lena, Madison, and Lexi. Update 2013.. January 3...no changes, which makes it 10 grandkids from my 2 sons and 3 daughters....Expand for more
Update: end of March 2012...Had heart attack a year ago, 3/18/2011. Got my chest cracked open for a "triple" bypass. A note: My older sister Lynette, who worked at the family store since she was a kid, died in early November, this year(2008), in Jamacia, at 57, of a stroke. She was there for her daughter Valarie's wedding of all things. Her son Jamie was killed in a car accident a few years ago. They are together again but live now only in our memories. RIP sister. I'll be payin' ya' all a visit soon enough, I expect. Just muddlin' my way though life and not doin' a very good job at it. Twice married, both time as it turns out to cheatin' women that were & still are, both drunks. So...twice divorced. 2 sons, 3 daughters, 8 grandkids, livin' in a shithole of a town in NWL Michigan. Put in some time in the Army, best & worst time of my life. Haven't been back to Elkhorn in 25 years and probably never will go back. No place is home anymore, so when it's kick-off time, I get cremated & let the wind take me where ever it likes. Most of you guys have been lost to me due to the fogs of time, its been...a bit...a few of you are remembered, but for the most part, classmates have been put away somewhere & I think I forgot where I put 'em. Not much to show for 36 years. I'm sure most of ya' did much better. Military Basic at Lost in the Woods, AIT at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. 14 months at Fort Sill, Ok. After Fort Sill, off to Illeshiem, Germany as an '88 operator, for 15 months or so, camping trips to Graf & Hohnsfeld (in the friggin' winter ....Brrrr) Reforger in '76, party, party, party, If we were on base, we were off base to some place or other. But, on duty, it was see Germany from the turret of a tank. Back to the states to Fort Knox, Ky for a short tour of teachin' 'cruits how to be troops. Out in 77, retiring from military service as a Spec4 & never looked back. Best and worst time of my life, at least I didn't go to 'Nam. Made Spec 4, 13 months after enlistment, no rank after that. Time to slip back into the foggy shadows of time....lost & forgotten....c-ya, Joe
