Joseph's Story

Life I've been married to my wife Betsy since 1982 and have 3 kids. For those of you who remember me "driving my big rig down the halls" (sound effects). I became a truck driver! Oh what a surprise! My spare time hobby was restoring Early 70's Dodge & Plymouth Muscle cars. My last car that I restored used to be in the DHS parking lot. It was an Orange 1970 Dodge Charger R/T owned by Lou Procaccini. (I recently sold the car in May of 2006.) In 1997 I had back surgery, after 6 years of painful winters I could not tollerate the cold anymore. My wife and I moved to Chandler Arizona in 2004 and are both realtors in the Phoenix & southeast valley area. Please give us a call if your relocating to the Phoenix area or are thinking of investing in Real Estate. We will be glad to assist you. I miss the old days at DHS. We did'nt know how good we had it. "Those were the best days of my life." See you at the next reunion! School All my DHS years were spent mostly in power mechanics with Mr. Terrell. I wish I took more computer and academic stuff but I was a thick head and only wanted to drive a truck. I used to hang out with Tony Procaccini who I still keep in touch with to this day. I had the best time in DHS because of a small group consisting of Joe, Jack & Tony Procaccini, Louie "D", Wade Peters, Greg Augusta, John Patacky and Shamus O'Malley. They were often refered to as "the family" "the mafia" "the Italians" and the "wrecking crew." The Procaccini's were my real cousins. Since the day I came to DHS Joe...Expand for more
Proc always kept an eye on me. It was like having a big brother gang member. The first day of high school I remember walking down the hall near the cafateria. Three guys, who I can't even remember now, jacked me up against the wall demanding money. At that moment I heard what sounded like a train approaching. It was Joe Proc running full speed down the hall yelling "don't mess with the family". The delinquints dropped me and high tailed it out an exit. No one ever bothered me again. I remember Tony Proc. building a dragster and bringing it to school for a "tune up" which turned into a few burnouts in the parking lot. My fondest memories were the basketball games and the cheerleaders. I even took some 8mm film of them. Everett Fullums' only HS career basket was captured on film. The team was undefeated but lost the finals, something like that. I remember one snowy night Tony and I were on our way to one of the B-Ball games when we saw a car skidded off the road. It was Tom Watkins one of our star players. Tony pulled him out of the ditch with his jeep. To this day we still feel our efforts contributed to the team winning the game that night. Too many stories to tell. DHS was a blast!!! Workplace Drove various trucks over the road and local. Worked at Kaster Moving Co. in Stamford CT. as a warehouse and operations manager for 15 years. Went on to purchase and ran a fuel oil business for 2 years before getting squashed by the big companies. Moved to AZ and made a major carrer change to Real Estate.
