Movies Josh likes include NINJA The Film, Watch Undisputed III: Redemption, Watch The Dark Knight Rises. One of Josh's favorite quotes is:"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours. (Stephen Roberts) Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? (Epicurus) Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer(Unknown) Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do.. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! ..But He loves you. (George Carlin) You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep-seated need to believe.(Carl Sagan) Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime; give a man religion and he will die praying for a fish. (Unknown) Man created God in his image : intolerant, sexist, homophobic and violent. (Marie) You keep believing, I'll keep evolving (Bumper Sticker) lol I do not think it is necessary to believe that the same God who has given us our senses, reason, and intelligence wished us to abandon their use, giving us by some other means the information that we could gain through them. (Galileo Galilei) He that will not reason is a bigot; he that cannot reason is a fool; he that dares not reason is a slave. (William Drummond) So you really think that God would plant a bunch of bo...Expand for more
nes in the earth to test your faith? Either you're in denial or God has some serious self-esteem issues. (Coral Yoshi) We must conduct research and then accept the results. If they don't stand up to experimentation, Buddha's own words must be rejected. (Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama, 1988) “If faith is your pathway to truth then you cannot distinguish between christianity, hinduism, jewdeism or any of these others. How is it that you use REASON as a pathway to truth in every endeavor of your life. But when it comes to the ultimate truth, the most important truth, you say faith is required?... what kind of god requires faith instead of evidence? i mean if you can come up with something that i believe that i dont have evidence for. Guess what? I’ll stop believing it. That's the nature of a rational mind. i feel sorry that people feel like they need faith. Faith is not a virtue. Faith is gullibility. There is a cost to faith as well. Because when you run into people like us, who dont believe it, you are compelled to think all kinds of horrific things about us and come at us with threats of eternal torment. Which draws a line between us. We cannot be friends because of what you have taken on faith... It is almost unberable to watch the people that you love, be absolutly duped into a devisive, destructive, hateful religion. That they think is not devisive, they think its inclusive and they think its possitive! We didnt end relationships when we became atheists. Christians ended those relationships. FAITH ended those relationships... If the foundation of your belief is necessarily dependant on faith... then we dont have much to talk about. Because i dont think thats a good thing and untill you demonstrate that faith is a good thing, how could you possably convince me that it is? And by the way, how do you convince someone that faith is a good thing... without evidence. It all comes back to reason and evidence.”—Matt Dillahunty & Jeff Dee (paraphrasing)". More about Josh:"Not much to say. Grew up in Ellis Ks. Live in Newton now with my wife (Jordan Harder) and my daughter (Lilly Guise). Love games, movies and so on. I hate religon and everything that goes with it. I love my family and am fairly happy. :)".
