Joshua's Story
Life
Lets see...where to start...after High School I went to Emerson College in Boston and commuted from Cambridge. One semester I went abroad to Holland but other then that I was at home. I dated a lot in college, but only had a couple of semi-serious relationships.
I graduated in 1988 and landed a job at the Boston Herald editing the Horse and dog race pages for dirt pay. After 6 months of this, and faced with having to continue to live at home, I decided to quit and take a trip across the country in a 1970 Volkswagon Bus with my friend Joe Reinert (class of 1986, CRLS).
I got back in early 1989 and bounced around doing jobs such as bike messenger, selling china over the phone, and phone surveys.
At least I finally got my own apartment (living with my younger bro, Raph) in Cambridge.
In April of 89 I landed a job as an "A/V Technician" at Bank of Boston in the Training Department. The next month I met Amy Rubin and we were an item almost right away....

year we were living together, and 3 years after we met we were married.
Meanwhile I stayed at the Bank for 6.5 years before I finally got laid off...I had left the Training department and joined the Payroll dept doing book-keeping work which worked its way up to Business Analyst activities. While I was doing that I decided to go to grad school and get my Masters in Management from Lesley College.
After the Bank I was out of work for seven months until I got hired at Ceridian as an Implementation Manager. One year later, sensing that the project I was working on was doomed, I quit and joined PeopleSoft. I stayed at PSFT for three years, but after spending 80% of that time basically living in NY, I decided to leave and joined Workscape, where I am stil employed to this day. Currently I am a Practice Manager of Workscape's technical consultants and I'm doing alright with it. My commute is 7 miles and that allows me to be home alot to be with Amy and our two children Nate and Edith.
