Joy's Story

Life Len and I were married in 1978 after a 7 year "engagement". Seven years later we welcomed our one and only pride and Alison Joy. Len died suddenly on April 1, 2005; two weeks before our 27th anniversary. Alison graduated from Boston University in 2007 with degrees in English and Japanese. She got married in Philadelphia in March 2008, and currently works for Encyclopedia Britannica in Chicago. She and her husband, Steve, have authored several nonfiction children's books. utiful, intelligent, funny, sassy, granddaughter, Lucy. Workplace I started teaching the hearing impaired in Detroit right out of college and I loved it. When Len transferred to Traverse City, I became a secretary for an oil company. We moved back to Taylor when his Michigan Bell office closed in T.C. I taught full-time in Taylor for 22 years and at Kinyon Elementary for the last 16 of those. I was a learning resource teacher and taught reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic to children with learning disabilities in the 3rd through 5th grades.
