Joy's Story
Believe it or not I'm still in Greenfiled. I have never left. I graduated in 79 spent the summer at grandmas in North Carolina returned home to start Hartnell in September where I met Karl Ellis. We became engaged and married February 27 1980. June 23 of 1982 after 4 bouts of chemotherapy he died with Luekemia. Ok so life was a tad different. I was 19 widowed and had never taken care of myself. I really hate to be alone. I sewed a few wild oats since I had in my mind that everyone goes through that. years after that relationship was over I met Dell Hemingway while waitressing in the big town of Soledad. He ask me out and the rest is our 13 + years of what is making our history. We tried the invitro twice and since I was near 40 realized the cost was to high for my age factor and we turned to adoption with monterey county social service. As you can see we have two beautiful boys. My husband is a Plumbing Contractor who was born and raised in San Luis Obispo. I work off and on since 1984 With Western Farm Service. I have put in 20 years of service with them. Right now I am filling in Temporarilry while two girls are on Maturity leave.
