Joyce's Story

Guess it is time to add a bit about me and how the years have treated me !!! Larry Wood and I were married for 20 yrs and were blessed with three wonderful children. 2 are living and are great, caring active individuals. My daughter is a nurse and has 3 daughters (2 married and 1 who is our gypsy and who has traveled extensively. My son is retired early from the computer industry and has 2 great sons in grade school. I am blessed to be very close with all and treasure my time with them.........yah, I'm a family oriented gal. I was married 10 years to a retired navy guy and had a Cafe in N. CA. Harold has since passed away. I was fortunate to travel to Europe and especially to Switzerland where my came from. Guess my love of the Trinity Alps comes from the family having originated N. of Bern, Switzerland. I am an avid historian and genealogist...having traced my family to 1490 !!!! I had 13 children over the years..........3 of my own and 10 foster children who were preadopts....fun ! When I moved to Santa Cruz I because a member of the Hopice that was just forming there and was a trained volunteer then took over and ran the office . From there I moved to Trinity Center (Coffee Creek) California (pretty darn remote) and my home is there. I eventually owned and operated a business there called the "Yellow Jacket Cafe" There are wonderful folks in the area and if you like to fish, hunt, hike, hang out, etc. this is the place to do it. The lake is wonderful !!!! Moved back to Santa Cruz as a caregiver for my youn...Expand for more
gest son until he passed away from lung cancer. (Hard time !!!) I am now a caregiver living with my mother back in Pittsburg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear that many of us have had or are having this experience later in life and I remember how caring the 60's students were so keep up the good work classmates !!! I look forward to seeing many of you again after so many years and have been blessed to reconnect with old friends......life is GOOD !!! UPDATE: thanks to the 60's Reunion.........I reconnected with another Pitt Hi Grad and now have been married and am VERY happy....soooo very unexpected at this time of my life..............thanks to Annamaried Magna for seeing Kenneth Lucido and getting us together !!!! LIFE IS GOOD and I am truly Blessed !!! Update: It is almost 9-11 and I watch the various TV interviews and my heart goes out to those who are remembering their lost loved ones of that event. I was recently blessed to attend the 40's=50's PHS Reunion held in downtown Pittsburg. There were about 900 attendees, both past students (a 1941 graduate I talked with !!!), spouses and friends. It was a great event and those who planned it are to be commended. Larry was there and he and Kenneth and I enjoyed seeing old friends and acquaintances. We are still reliving that day and talking of the many smiling faces as hugs and kisses were exchanged !!!! Sorry many of you were unable to be there but we felt your spirits there with us !!! I look forward to seeing you again at some future time, Joyce Clark Wood
