Joyce's Story
43 years ago Labor day weekend I packed up my 75 Honda Civic and moved to Toledo, OH with Russell Dill, who graduated from Lexington. Things worked out for awhile and after a year we went our separate ways, he left Toledo and I stayed and determined to make Toledo my home. In 1984 I married Bill Potter and that lasted 2 1/2 years and in 1987 ended in divorce. Took 8 more years before I would decide to marry again. Now married to Dan Kachenmeister from Toledo, and 26 years later we are still together. Ironic story about Dan and I. We were both married the same day, same year in our lst marriages in 1984, just a 1/2 hour difference in time. Very strange, but happy to say we chose a new date for our wedding and were married in Gatlinburg, TN, on a Christian campground at the "Chapel in the Woods" in 1995.. children unfortunately, but not that we didn't try, just wasn't meant to be. However we manage to have plenty of godchildren, nieces/nephews to enjoy when we can. Went to college after High School, but never finished my Accounting degree. Currently work as a Office Mgr. for a construction company in Toledo for the last 22.5 years, and ended in November of 2020. The owner decided to close the business and liquidated all assets, so joined the unemployment line for the lst time ever since I started working at 15. Since 2002 became ordained and now am licensed by the State of Ohio to Officiate weddings. Currently Officiate weddings in Toledo/Northwest and Eastern Ohio Counties, as well as SE Michigan area. I truly love it, and it has been one of my greatest blessings and in my life and I look forward in serving many couples for years to come.
