JuanF's Story

Timid are we!! So, to break my shyness here goes!! I first joined Classmates after I retired in 2019 and frequently asked myself whatever happened to so and so. Well Classmates includes lots of names but very few pics and almost no bios but when pics are posted what a bunch of good-looking folks that look not a year over 50!! So back to Mua, in brief, this is what happened to me. I graduated from DeVry Tech, and after that went through four major life changing experiences in the oil and gas industry that included electronics, geology, nondestructive testing and finally chemicals. Unfortunately, now that I am retired, at times it is tough to recall whatever I learned! My wife of 46 exhilarating years, and I settled in the Houston area (Cypress) and are blessed with two sons and a daughter, and six grandkids. Extracurricular activities include running and completing marathons, but I am now cycling and trekking. I love to read and improve awareness, especially in modern technologies. But on top of my hobby list is traveling, yep that is right what a hobby! My wife and I travel to several count...Expand for more
ries each year. The rest of the time we save and plan to start the cycle all over again. I have tasted a thousand and one worldly spirits, beers, and wines and now coffees, especially expressos, but I am circling back to my wine hobby. I posted my McHi 1972 pic and a more recent photo to clearly show that I still wake up every morning. Of course we have changed, we are now seasoned, wiser and the ladies never aged but the gents, well, let’s continue to hang in there! So, when I see a name in Classmates that I may recall I run to my 1970 Sophomore Yearbook, call me old fashioned, and sigh, I remember him or her, and then struggle to remember what happened at the time! On occasions, I find that some of our classmates are no longer with us and now have an address in heaven, let there be peace and yes life goes on. May you continue to see light for as many mornings as the Great one gives us, stay healthy, safe and enjoy each second. Farewell to all my classmates, friends of then and now, and if we crossroads, great, if not, rejoice, life is beautiful. Keep smiling, make someone laugh!! JuanF.
