Juanita's Story

I am Blessed to be a blessing to others. I have had many wonderful life's experiences, as well as, I have had my share of life's disappointments. The part of my life I cherish the most is my 5 children (2 boys and 3 girls) and they have given me 10 grands plus one great-grand. Well, I'll tell you, life for me ain't been no crystal stair. It's had tacks in it. And splinters. After, CHS, I worked at General Electric for 3 years. It was there I met an electrical engineer from de Rep of Panama. We were married in 1967 and we moved to Troy, Ohio where my oldest son was born...he has served in the Air Force for 21 years. I am so proud of him. After his birth, my husband was transferred to Anaheim, CA, and I became a working mother, (Cosmetology school from Stoval,Fort Wayne, paid off. As a mother of 5, I operated 4 hair salon for 24 years. In 1992, I lost my mother and my husband...one by God, the other half made a choice to be FREE. So, I have been free since 1992. mpty, the last son went off to college; I returned to college, also. In 1999, I got my BS degree in Child Development From San Diego State University. I taught pre-school for 3 years, until my knees started to ache. After which, I became a Foster Mother to 7 Foster Children, who parents were either incacerated or unfit to care for them. When my last set of children were adopted, I felt a call to return to Fort Wayne. While I was in Fort Wayne, my heart was touch to assume the responsibility of caring for my two disabled siblings. While making this sacrifice, my life have changed. I see life differently...caring for someone who can not care for themselves is humbling. They have given me a different purpose...a new venture, a Calling. Isaiah 40:31 says they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Now I have a mission to serve and assist elderly...as I grow. I hope I can make it to the next class reunion. This is my story this is my life. Peace!
