Judi's Story

Well, I got married right out of high school. Lived in Grand Rapids for awhile, then moved to Grattan. Had my son in '68, and my daughter in '70. We moved to Greenville in '74. Bought a house on 24 acres, as I had horses (of course, LOL). I was mainly a wife and mother, did the "Martha Stewart" thing. Good little wifey. Hubby decided 12 years later, that he wanted a younger chic, so I found myself suddenly single, with 2 young children. I guess I was afraid of being alone, so I jumped right out of the frying pan, and into the fire, marrying a guy from Saranac, David Todd. It wasn't meant to be for long, so I divorced him in '81 and have been single ever since. Haven't found that "right" guy yet, altho have touched base with an old flame recently. He's married so we will remain "friends", but we love talking about the good old days. I bred and showed dogs for almost 40 years. Started out with German Shepherd Dogs, fell in love with Chow Chows and raised them for 14 years. As most of you remember, I was really "into" horses, and unfortunately back in '87, a horse did a real number on me, and shattered my leg. On crutches for a year. So I got out of dog breeding for about 3 years, but then got back into it with Chinese Shar-Pei. In 2003, one of the dogs I bred...Expand for more
, went to #3 in the country the beginningn of the year. VERY proud. I have 7 grandchildren. My daughter has 4, and my son has 3. My daughter's oldest is married and going to college to be an RN. My son's oldest is going to college to become a Forensic Scientist. I have one granddaughter who was accepted to modeling and acting school. My son is a musician in a fantastic Classic Rock Band, called "Bottoms Up". They play at The BOB, most of the Casino's in Michigan, and other places around Michigan. His daughters are both very much into music also, and he has done recordings of them. They both play guitar and sing. I live in the Greenville area now, and am an Animal Artist. I'll have to put my website on here so you can see my artworks. Pretty much that is it for me. After I shattered my leg, it kind of changed my life. But, when life hands you lemons, you can either become sour, or make lemonade. I chose to make lemonade. I go listen to my son's band often, and love to get out and dance. The youngsters can't keep up with me <grin>. Hope to get in touch with many of my old classmates. Have been in contact with a few, and my best friend in High School, Annette (Milane) Fielding and I are still good friends. Hope to make others again at this stage of my life.
