Judith's Story
I was Gilsoul in school (came to Mt Tahoma from Wilson) but some of you may remember Judy Springer. Long story short, I lost my husband of 37 years, sold out of Arizona and bought in Gig Harbor to be near my sisters/brothers (13 of us total). Met Richard Darden on the internet, he came down, I went up, we traveled to Cabo, then spent a month in Argentina and next thing we knew we rented out the Gig Harbor house and I came to Anchorage. Richard couldn't get out of AK because the volcano was spewing ash and flights were canceled for 3 days, so I drove up alone (well, with my Lab, Maggie). It was March and still snowy but the roads were clear - like driving a picture postcard! Had a wonderful trip.

years then fell in love with Bellingham, WA, on a vacation. Found a house on the internet, flew down and bought it, then sold the Anchorage home. We drove down the ALCAN in Aug 2012 and are now settled in Sudden Valley, east of Bellingham. We're busy making new friends, getting re-acquainted with high school friends, and meeting relatives we didn't even know we had!
We're both retired now and trying to find time to do Stain Glass, painting, drawing, pottery, politics, traveling, carpentry and whatever else we decide to so. Life is great and you just never know what's around the next corner no matter your age. Richard and I are enjoying every single day. We're in the phone book if you ever get up this way - the spare room is ready!
