Judith's Story
My name was Judi Kirkup until I started getting married to Smith, then Davis, then Leonor for various lengths of time. I worked for 10 yrs. for The RAND Corp. in Santa Monica, CA, married to the bodybuilder, and part of that world. I was in PR. I married Davis in 1979 and left for Nevada shortly thereafter. FF through that to ending up in Seattle where he had a Programmer Analyst job and I connected with the Founder of Starbucks (4 stores, 65 people). Very entrepreneurial, wild and crazy. 11 yrs. I left, having worked the last 7 as VP of Human Resources and Retail division and loving it. Best time of life. Traveled a lot to Guatemala and honed my Spanish. Remember Ms. Manis? Yikes! e of the Social Workers who arranged my visits down there to visit the communities and children and their families in coffee-producing regions. I now live Arizona where I work on this book that I have been hounded to write, 350-400 pages into it, in desperate need of an editor. No kids, just stepones from second marriage...in touch with them more now and the daughter has kids. I communicate with many people in Guatemala and Honduras via computer. So many more little computer cafes there now since I first visited in 1991. My dog is bilingual. I have lived in LA, San Fran, NV, WA, NM, AZ. So far they haven't caught me. HA! Bye 4 now.
